Predictions: show readers when you were right
Write what you think will happen and by when. On the day, mark whether it did. Readers see your score, and they can trust it, because a prediction…
What a prediction is
One sentence about the future that will turn out true or false, with a date. For example: “Bitcoin will close above $100,000 on 31 December.” You also say how sure you are, from 55% to 99%.
What happens next
The prediction appears on your track record and is locked: nobody can edit or delete it, including you. On the date you get an email. You mark whether it happened and add a link that shows it.
What readers see
Every prediction you have made, which came true and which did not, and your score. Wrong ones, late ones and withdrawn ones stay on the page, which is why the score means something.
Why readers can trust it
Every email your newsletter sends ends with a short check code that depends on every prediction so far. If an old prediction were changed, the code would no longer match the copies in readers’ inboxes. Anyone can test this with one button.
A reason to pay
On Writer Pro you can show a prediction to paying members first. Everyone else sees that you made one, and reads it once the result is known. It was locked on day one, so you can prove members got it first.
Use it anywhere
Your track record has its own page and a badge for any website. It is free for up to five predictions at a time, even if your newsletter is published somewhere else.
