Reader chat: a room for your subscribers

Give your newsletter a chat room, like a small Slack, where confirmed subscribers talk with you and with each other. It has its own place in your newsletter menu, and readers find it on your newsletter page, at the end of every issue they can read and in every email. It is free on every plan.

Step-by-step guide with screenshots →

Turn it on in one press

Open your newsletter and choose Chat in the menu, then “Turn chat on”. You are taken to the room to say hello.

Where readers find it

A “Reader chat” button on your newsletter page, an invitation at the end of every issue the reader can open, and a link at the bottom of every email you send. A subscriber on a new phone enters their email at the chat’s door and is sent a link that opens it.

You stay in charge

You post with a Writer badge. You can remove any message and mute a reader, who can then read but not post. Messages are seen only by confirmed subscribers and you, never by the public or search engines.

A room for paying members

Once paid memberships are open on your newsletter, paying members get a second room of their own.

What it does not do

There are no private messages between readers, no file uploads and no phone app. It is one page that works in any browser.
