A prediction is one sentence about the future that will turn out true or false, with a date and how sure the writer is. It can be about anything: markets, sport, politics, technology, the writer’s own business. It only has to be something anyone can check on the date. “AI will make work useless” cannot be checked; “Unemployment in the US will be above 6% in December 2027” can.

A writer gains proof that they said it beforehand, which is a reason for readers to subscribe and to pay.
